THE LEGALIZATION OF MARIJUANA IN THE STATE OF    COLORADO 

January 2014 was a huge break when they legalized marijuana in the state of Colorado. They legalized weed for the state of Colorado as a way to raise money for the state, by taxing marijuana. There is many opinions,arguments, and debates on legalizing marijuana in Colorado. Coming from a young teenage girl, who has seen more than she probably should have, I believe this legalization of being able to go to your local establishment and buying pot is alarming because it could lead to more extensive use and lead to more bad habits and more serious drugs. I'm 99 percent sure the state of Colorado was high off of marijuana when deciding whether it should be legal or not. I do in fact believe that if you have some sort of illness and are in need of medical Marijuana then by all means you may get some from your doctor. But if not, you shouldn't be able to just pick some up and get blazed for no reason.

20th FLOOR FIRE BREAKS OUT

A typical Manhattan family were trapped in their apartment on the 20th floor of there building from a fire. The article tells us how the fire had began and how the family couldn't get out because the hallways were filled with smoke and fire. Thank God, that everyone was safe. A few years ago there was a fire right across the street from where I live. A 11 year old boy had died from, the lungs breathing in to much smoke and gas. personally i knew the family, it was actually one my friends from school, apparently he was asleep and the fire had broken out from the stove releasing gas in the air. it was a sad memory for the town of waukegan. The article explained, how all the families on the 20th floor were trying to escape all the smoking that was coming at them and for them  to inhale it, by standing outside on their porches. Stories like these, leave a scare because accidents can be deadly and theirs always a family member that dies in these type of situations. If you were ever in one of these positions, you just have to have the general knowledge of knowing your escape route and helping others get out go the building . I like reading this articles because, these are the types of situations that i have to deal with for my career because i wanna be a crime scene investigator, therefor i have to know if it was an accident or if someone purposly meant to start this fire.

Shortages On Salt Supplies Throughout The Country





















Due to the snow storms this year and change of snow storm direction our salt supplies become minimal! This year of 201, has been a tragic year and also a record breaking and Company's that are use of the salt have minimum usage. The state of New Jerseys salt supplie has come to an end, just from a week ago or on January 27, which they had not that much salt, so they had to use it wise lee. The past year of salt usage was a total amount of 258,000 tons of salt and in 2014, they have used a minimum of at least 277,000 tons. Majority of the cities across the country hoping for no more snow and sunny more days so the snow can melt, but that is unlikely to happen. There's a prediction by the Department of Transportation in Pennsylvania, that the year of 2014 usage of salt will be 200,000 more tons of salt. This is going to a problem to solve because what are we going to do if the country runs out of salt? While I was in Chicago over street scenes break, they had very severe snow storms, the roads were very dangerous and you can see cars that go off the highway due to the icy roads, but Chicago has equipment to plow snow and put salt on the streets. Not like Kansas City, which broke the record for the most horrifying ice storm. They don't have the equipment like we do in Chicago.  If you go into a deeper meaning of these situations, we have been having snow storms every two or three times a week and Some schools have canceled days off because of the weather conditions and temperature wise. Some schools have to make up the days they missed due to the snow storms. NBC News, quotes that the majority of cities are going to be using a new method of half salt and half sand. Sand is a mineral and it causes the snow to melt, but it takes time not like salt, which dissolves faster and the snow melts faster.

Florida's Cost, Whales Found Dead 














About 20 pilot whales found dead off Florida coast. beached whales, naples, florida, everglades.

There were reports of at least 20 dead whale's found on the Coast Of Florida. Scientists were surprised on the event that had occured. The majority of the Scientist took test to see the cause of death of so many innocent whales. In this article, it specifically shows that whales which are mammals had  died on December, they didn't die from an infection. A common disease is Morbilivirus Virus, which is a measles-like infection. This infection was responsible for the deaths of more than 1,000 bottlenose dolphins, the past year! When i was going through the articles and read about what was happening to the whales, It was horrifying because i thought to myself if these whales keep dieing, they can become extinct. From my point of view, that whales have to taken away from the beaches, just takes my breath away because you never know if there can be more than four whales just laying on beach dead. I enjoy whales, from my experience, my uncle took me out to the ocean to fish and it was just a beautiful site to see the whales come out of the water. My opinion, is for the scientist to do there job and to solve the transaction of what is causing these dead whales to end up on our Florida's cost.

Waukegan student Killed in Drag Racing

Police have made an arrest in the alleged street racing death of a 17-year-old Waukegan High School sophomore.

According to officials, an illegal drag race ended in tragedy Friday night on March 25, 2013.When Jose Ivan Pimentel was struck by one of the drag racers car.
On Monday, March 28, 2013 police arrested Mario Garcia, 18, of Waukegan, and was charged with reckless homicide, aggravated street racing and hit and run, which left scene when hitting Jose. Garcia is being held on $200,000 bond at the Lake County jail.

Pimentel was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, between routes 41 and 43. This road that stretch of road is well known street for drag racing and Pimentel apparently misjudged the speed of a vehicle and was struck while crossing the roadway near Route 43.

I cant believe Jose was gone, I broke down in tears when i found out that he was hit during that drag race. Jose was a great person, if you were having a bad day he will always put a smile on your face. Everybody paid there respects and went to his awake and his burial was awful. It broke my heart to see such a good friend and young to be put in the ground. Jose's in a better place now, The Waukegan district made a fundraiser at San Luis supporting his family. Jose was a great soccer player, he was a great role model. I wish i could of done something i wished i could of saved him. But he's gone, all respects go out to his family, who also were heart broken because some teenagers think its funny to drag race at night in till they take someones life. Now Mario Garcia sits in his cell behind bars and looking back at what he did. We all know that Jose will be looking over us and we are never going to forget about you Jose.

Tragic Murder of A 14 Year Old

Its horrifying to hear this, especially happening in our area. But last week, Tuesday approximately 8 o'clock, in Mundelein, Illinois, the police department of Mundelein had received a phone call that a Hispanic man had broken into the home of a single mother, and 2 kids quoting that he was stabbing her sister. Police investigators had no time and rushed to the crime scene, Crime scene found evidence, but not towards the man, but yet the sister. The older sister had then, confessed that she had brutly stabbed her sister, ll years of age to death. She had reported the reason why she had done the crime was because the younger sister was mean and ungrateful for things she had accomplished around the house. This is really heartbroken to hear because this is the area i got to school. I know a friend who goes to Mundelein High School who knew the family personally. I can relate to this but instead of sisters i have two brothers. I have an older brother who is 18 and he's going to college and a younger brother who is 8 and in 3rd grade. I'm the child who does work around the house from cleaning to cooking. Sometimes we get into fights but then we resolve them and then at the end of the day were always family.

The Famous artist Justin Bieber has been arrested at approximately 4 a.m. Thursday morning in Miami. He was charged for Driving Under The Influence, drag racing his rented yellow Lamborghini, resisting arrest, and driving without a valid license. The once perfect teenager has changed his fashion to his physical appearance. Justin had asked the officer why did he get pulled over.

 

Justin, 19 years of age, was released from jail an hour later, The judge set a bond of $2,500 Thursday afternoon. When he was released, Just had sat on top of the black Cadillac, Escalade, where he waved to screaming fans, before he was taken away.

What Do We Predict? On Whats On The Other Side?




What is the truth about Black Holes? and Stephen Hawking recently said that black holes never existed or do the things they are suppose to do. It all started when a Geologist in the 18^th century who wondered of the explanation of an object like the black hole. Then famous scientist Albert Einstein started making theories of the Black Holes existence. Now Stephen Hawking had introduced new theories on the topic of the Black Holes. 

 

This has lead me to make a prediction on the earth, the magnitude doesn't matter on the earth. we see it to be, its just a tiny particle in the universe, that with one tiny change in the matter around us we could be destroyed. This topic is very unique because of the problems that arise from a solution. If you are able to solve one solution about a Black Hole then many more solutions come right behind it. To me its reality and scares me for you never known if a black Hole is real just from theories. The question here is what is really a Black Hole?

Flappy Bird Deleted From The App Store

 

 

In a case of a few months, "Flappy Bird", a major addiction game made by Dong Nguyen. This app went from a few people downloading the game, to the most popular game in the app store. Nguyen's, "Flappy Bird" has been downloaded more than 50 million times and has made a profit of $50,000 each day. Although the app has received an increasing amount of success in such little time, Fans were stunned when they hard that Dong had deleted the app "Flappy Bird" on February 8th. From my point of view, Flappy Bird is my favorite game right now, and i am very disappointed and sad that Dong and i deleted because now it's gone forever. It's very addicting, but so hard to play. So it makes you angry every time you die. On the other hand, I am pretty ecstatic because my last high score was 89, the day i deleted was the day i had beat my score of 89, which i had gotten a score of 104, which in my opinion is excellent because when i look at my friends there still in there 20s. Anyways, there had been rumors spreading around that Dong had deleted the game due to legal issues, but those came to an end very quickly. Nguyen has two other options of games in the app store, Shuriken Block and Super Ball Juggling, and he said that he will still be making games, which is a relief to me and I'm sure his other 50 million fans. I wished he would bring Flappy Bird back.

This man, José Salvador Alvarenga has survived at sea for a year and one month in a small boat. That is impossible! That is a long time to survive and live on a boat. You probably want to know what was he doing? Jose tells us how he survived for those 13 months, its incredible and nasty. He says he had survived in sea by eating a diet of only fish, birds and turtles. He also quoted that he survived by drinking turtle blood and rainwater. How is that possible and disgusting! But another horrifying thing is when they were blown out to sea by the storm, he was with someone else. After a month later that person had died leaving José to survive alone. There has been comments, agreements, disagreements and debates. This whole story actually all checks out, except for there real ages. But officials say Hispanic reporters tend to slip up and get the ages wrong in missing peoples reports. When Jose landed on the shore of Ebon in the Marshall Island alive, with only a few bruises,scratches and swollen ankles, there is stories spreading. Many people think to themselves how can he is still be alive without dieing or even catching a disease. When Jose's family found out that he was still alive, they were happy and overwhelmed that they didn't loose him. This story is a story to remember. Its crazy to think that you can survive out in sea for a year and one month and the different things you can live off.

Weight, is a big problem now a days. People who want to loose weight, always find different ways to loose weight. I myself, find different ways to loose weight. I need to manage my weight. I am kinda fit, as you might know, and I exercise as much as i can and play different sports. I thought drinking protein shakes and muscle milk, but I was wrong. When I read this article, I realized I could try other things to try and loose weigh.

 
1. Avoid common pitfalls

    Example- you loose weight but cant keep it off 

2. Put a stop to emotional eating

    Example- If you eat when you are stressed 

3. Tune in when you eat

    Example- pay attention on what you eat

4. Eat fruits, veggies, and fibers 

    Example-whole grains
5. Indulging without overindulging
    Example- make a schedule on what you should eat
6. Take charge of your food enviorment
    Example- eat early and cook your own meals
7. make healthy lifestyle changes
    Example- get plenty of exercise

I do a lot of exercise. Basketball has helped me loose weight because we run a lot during practice. Also during the summer, caddying helps because i am outside walking for four hours.  However, I am a person who is very active daily. I'm not looking at a TV screen or a computer, i am at the gym either playing basketball or working out. Yeah I know i have to watch out that i don't over exercise, but at least I'm loosing weight. being active is not hard for me, but eating veggies has been a huge problem. I have a lot of fruits every day, but i never eat vegetables. I never ate veggies in my entire life. During the summer i eat a lot of junk food but, i feel guilty afterwards so i go to the gym and loose all the calories i ate. There's a lot of different ways to loose weight.

 Gun Control In The U.S. 

                    

The Second Amendment has a lot of disagreements on if it is right or wrong. The Second Amendment clearly states that any human being has the right to bear arms.

 

The Amendment is only for use of self defense and for protection. The majority of U.S. citizens quote that "guns are not right and guns kill people". That statement is not true, In fact, people kill people. Guns give people the opportunity and feeling of being safe and protecting themselves and their family when law itself is not saving people nor protecting people, more and more people die everyday due to gun violence. Instead of using guns or weapons, theirs always a good citizen. When a person is in danger and there's no one around to help, there's always that one person that can change everything by helping that person who is in danger. Having guns on the streets is not safe and more innocent people die. Most of the time when people get in a shootout, which are usually gangs and their rivals, the guns are stolen, illegal and not registered. All the comments and disagreements of use of guns should just end. Guns shouldn't be in the streets, Guns should only be use for the right reasons. Example would be, Our troops who are fighting for our country, should have access to guns. People should not carry guns what so ever, It should not be a privilege. Protecting yourself with self defense should not involve using a gun and killing someone. Therese freedom and peace in this country, but the use of guns causes violence and that to me is not peace, that is war to me.

Super bowl 2014, Sea Hawks VS Broncos



   
 This Super Bowl, i thought it was going to be a well known year. With Quarterback, Peyton Manning, versus one of the youngest stars quarterbacks in the NFL Russell Wilson. From my point of view, i saw both of these teams qualifying into the super bowl. I made a prediction that these two teams were going to make it into the Super Bowl, going into the fourth week of the season,

My biggest concern is "The Big Question" in which, who is going to be stronger out of both teams, the Broncos Offense or the Sea hawks Defense. After watching the game, The majority of us all know who one that game. By the scoreboard and the fans the winner of the 2014 Super Bowl was, the Seattle Sea hawks Defense. By far this game was a defensive game. The result is, the Sea Hawks defense had Denver on their feet.   The MVP award goes to, line backer Malcolm Smith of this year Super bowl. He will be one of the only eight, out of 48 defensive people to win the MVP in a super bowl.
